At the end of May 2002, the local So. California clan of Gearheads held a Summit on the Queen Mary.  It was a huge success.  Soon, it was legendary.  By the next year, 2003, many more Gearheads came out for the 2003 Summit "sequel."  This time, people traveled from as far as Minnesota, Ohio, Northern California, Tennessee, Oregon, Texas, and even the United Kingdom.  Here are a few pictures from this wonderful 3 day weekend.  Click on 'em for the full size pictures.

Thursday, May 29th, we were still in San Diego.  Down there, we picked up Dan and Josh (aka Rick Blaine and Bogie 1943) and hit Flight Suits.  There we also met up with Lee Keppler and Sergei.  We got a tour, had a great lunch, and I ordered their Expedition Jacket.  Tommorrow, it was off to Long Beach, Disneyland, and the Queen Mary!

Friday, May 30th, we hit Disneyland with Josh (Bogie 1943), Indiana Ken, Dan (Rick Blaine), and John & Mary (Henry Jones, Sr. and Maryon Ravenwood).  Then afterwards, it was dinner at Sir Winston's on the ship, followed by the Observation Bar.

Saturday, May 31st, was a full day of activity on the ship.  After Breakfast, we had a tour of the ship by MK, then lunch, whip cracking in the park, followed by more Observation Bar activity, and finally dinner at Chelsea's, and cigars out on desk.

Sunday, June 1st, was bittersweet.  Good-byes, along with group shots was the main activity after Breakfast.  For many, it was traveling back home.  For us, it was continuing on our roadtrip.

Back on our roadtrip, that following Monday we were in San Francisco.  In the San Francisco/Oakland area, are three things/places right out of the Indiana Jones Trilogy.  Inside San Francisco's City Hall are the steps at the end of Raiders.  Treasure Island, off the Bay Bridge, was the setting for the Berlin Airport in The Last Crusade, and the Pan-Am Clipper from Raiders it at the Air Museum at the Oakland Airport.  Two days later, we were in the Seattle area and David Morgan's shop to pick up my bullwhip from the man himself, David Morgan.
